I've just got my new Macbook Pro and well basically, it won't turn on.. Originally there was no battery charge so I plugged it in and waited for a bit until charge, so I tried it again and again, nothing - it turns on but a black screen - and it just sits there. I read on a forum somewhere that if that doesn't happen, put in the install disc and it might boot it from there - nothing again (can't even get the damn disc back out now) so I don't know what to do

It's just sat there (turned on) but doing nothing.

What can I do? It's brand new only just unboxed it.

when u tried to boot from the cd drive did u hold down the "C" key? that bypasses the startup dive and allows it to boot from the cd

Yeah I did - it just sat there. Do I do it as I press the power button? both together?

When I boot Ubuntu from a CD as soon as it seems to be doing anything I hold C
    Always works for me.

Found out the problem - I asked for another 2 gig in the machine so it'd be 4 gig, turns out that one of the 2 gig sticks doesn't work so I put back in a 1 gig stick so now the machine boots up with 3 gig - going to get the other stick replaced.

yay my apple FAIL still applys (pending)

ADDED: i find it odd that it didnt boot at all, when i added more ram to my Dell 5600 and i didnt put it all the way in the computer still booted but it told me something about missing NVRAM so i knew it was that, or it gave me some bios error that if u look into refers to RAM, why didnt the apple macbook Pro do this? odd....
