    Well,

I am officially sick and tired of the Beta's. I have wanted to Restore twice.

The first time, I got a few errors and ended up re-installing iTunes, but this way is VERY easy.

Connect the iPod to iTunes, wait for the conenction, and then Uncheck "Open iTunes on iPod Connect".

    Close iTunes, Disconnect iPod.

Go to Finder>USER_NAME>Library>iTunes> and Delete "Device Support".

Make sure the Trash is empty, and connect the iPod. iTunes should not open.

Continue to put the device in DFU mode, wait for iTunes to detect it.

Click Restore, or Option+Restore and choose 2.2.1.

    Simple.

This is for Mac OS X 10.5.6. A few people incl. me had problems with DFU Mode.

EDIT: This is why I didn't include the Windows way.

I just shift + updated (not restored) and all my media and settings and such were kept, yet I was back to 2.2.1...

took less time, and didn't have to restore all my media.

    Doesn't seem problematic.

Is this on the Uni-Body MacBooks, or just 10.5.6?

Both. I had problems in 10.5.5 even, 10.5.6 made them worse on both my machines.
