I currently have a movie (Evangelion 2.22) that I want to play on my iPod. It is currently at 1080p, but it will be resized. My question is, do I have to de everything myself in a third party program, or will iTunes 9.2 convert with the soft-subs? I am willing to experiment.

I'm going to just wing this and say that the iPod Touch is similar to the PS3 in the essence that it only plays the file without checking for other files. So you're going to need hard subs. Of course, I've never tried this on my iPod, so try it with the soft subs first.
