I feel like smashing my iPod touch against the wall. AGAIN in all randomness my iPod decides to turn all of my music and video files into "Other" materials. Now I have to reset it, jailbreak it, and re-upload all of my files. But obviously I HATE DOING THAT. Is there no stop to this madness?? Really, why does it do this??

EDIT: Now all of my music and video "files" have been deleted because it says the ""Other" category has 737 MB!! And I can't even keep my iPod touch connected to my computer for more than two seconds :'(.

define "other materials"....I don't quite know what you mean...

EDIT: I'm probably not the best person to help with this since I don't even use my ipod for music or video anymore...

Either you messed around in ssh to much, or an app you downloaded caused the files to be misplaced

Sorry I couldn't be more help

PS. If it happens with your iPod when its UNjailbroken, take advantage of your warranty and get a fresh new one

Does it say you only have that much space left after a restore?

Well I did get it fixed. Sorta. Now I have to spend the next few hours restoring the contents of my iPod touch. Which is still extremely annoying. Is there any way to reverse it? All I did was poke around some folders on my iPod with FileZilla...

Edit: On the other hand, could it be the USB cable that came with my iPod touch? Every once in a while my iPod touch just disconnects and connects randomly.

could be.... Or the USB port you're using, so try a different port or test to see if it really IS the cable by using your friends cable and seeing if his works over yours

I still have my old iPod cable, the one with the side buttons. That works perfectly but it's connected to the back of my computer, not the front. I guess I'll use the back from now on and see what happens =/.
