I have a iPod Touch 2g and I'm currently running iOS4 Jailbroken firmware, so I'm wondering. If Multitasking and the tools to edit the homescreen work a jailbroken 2g why won't it work on the normal firmware?

You make no sence. If he would've bought a new 8GB it wouldnt change anything. Not everyone has money for a 300-400 USD iPod.

The pseudo-3G iPod touch 8GB and all iPod touch 2G have slower hardware compared to the 32/64GB 3G touch. I'm just guessing, but I'm betting that's the reason why you don't see multitask on the older models. As for home screen wallpaper, I haven't got a damned clue why they would leave that out of old model touch. Makes no sense...

Because the minimum requirement for implementing wallpaper without obscuring your texts exceeds what the older generation devices are capable of. Some wallpapers just make it very confusing to view the screen, and you can't read texts at all.

You can, however, enable wallpapers and just simply remove the shadow shades to get better performance on the older devices, but apparently, Apple wouldn't want you to do that, or be able to do that.

That and very large wallpapers will lag the system badly even on an iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3G.

Okay, but it makes no sense since the newest 8GB still doesn't give features.

Have you payed any attention at all ? You think your 8 GB "3G" is a 3G ? It's a 2G, hardware-wise. Didn't anyone tell you that when you bought it ?
