i just got a kindle fire but im thinking about returning it and getting the nexus 7. maybe ill get the 16gb model.
I've decided to get it... Ordering in a little bit Edit: Never mind... I could use my money on way better things.
Actually, there's a slight chance that a custom ROM can't fix that. There's some possibility of it not putting out 5v for the USB, in which case, you'll have to have powered hub. I plan on picking mine up day one from bestbuy, planning on getting the 16Gb.
I am thinking on the positive side that it will provide enough output. I have been hoping it would, that was one reason I was iffy about ordering. But I decided to just go with it. If it doesn't provide enough power I wouldn't mind.
It's so tempting... I really want a tablet. And the price on this is unbeatable. But I kind of want a full size one (10.1 inches) and I was looking for something dockable like the Transformer. I was also holding out for Microsoft Surface. To be honest I want something I could use instead of a laptop if I want. It's so tempting though.
It's just an all around fantastic device. Everyone who compares it to an iPad is just being a fanboy. It, like the Kindle Fire, are not meant to be iPad competitors. They are in a class of their own. For $199 for 8gb and $249 for 16gb you can't go wrong. I bought the 16gb version an hour after the presentation at I/O. I'm really excited for it to come, I'm just getting impatient.
Well Amazon tries to compete with the iPad, but you are right. I love my iPad a bunch over this, but I cannot wait to get mine It looks like it will be my new favorite thing for a couple months.
I've been spending too much money lately. If I hadn't just shelled out three hundred on a guitar, I would have probably preordered this by now. I think when my T-Mobile contract is up, I'll get rid of my data plan and just get a dumbphone and a Nexus 7. Broke college kids don't need a data plan, especially when they live in range of Wi-Fi! There's Wi-Fi around campus, too.
