do u think they've taken it too far?for fear of being overtaken or not selling as many products and just wanting stuff being exclusive on iphone os (exclusion of cross-platform development)

personally im very interested in this issue, and heres a couple link for u guys to check out

i mean apple products are great but i think they are being a bit anti competitive, i mean u dont have to raid someone's house to seize their stuff and rejection of flash im not one of those that takes side in this argument of adobe vs apple its not all technical reasons i mean apple does have a history of strict control

    what do u guys think

they make great products but they are high priced and apple are very, VERY secretive. Can't blame them though coz they do normally come up with original ideas and they have to hide their prototypes.

Apple is a quality company, and good stuff shouldn't be cheap, the PSP Go sucks, but its still 299$

heres a couple more links for u guys to read, seems like theres quite a stir amongst the community and it seems more like they want exclusive stuff on their platform than just purely flash is not good enough and how they raided gizmodo's editors house and made Ellen DeGeneres apologise for the parody seems a bit outrageous
this is a pretty common saying "imagine if microsoft did that, what would happen?so im just wondering what gives them the right to do so"
quoting one of the comments from engadget i think, not exact but the general idea
imagine if microsoft made a microsof app store and all the programs that needs to published has to be approved by microsoft, they would be sued til bankrupt by now so yea how does apple have the right to do it?
i know this might sound a bit like a rant but im just putting some comments i found and articles across a couple technological sites and seems that a lot of people is getting this view more and more

Android's basically an iPhone copy, only it supports Flash and is open-sourced. The App Market is practically the AppStore.

Apple is very anti-competitive in my opinion. Sure, Apple needs to maintain control of their products and their ecosystem to maintain "quality". But many times it just turns into being a control freak, being anti-competitive, or just having a grudge against a company. I doubt anyone can say that Apple has been "fair" in many regards. Now the Gizmodo incident is understandable, but little else it.

We are what you might call "liberal iPod users".

As far as consumer technology goes, Apple is one of the jerks. Sure, they make some good stuff, but it comes with an unnecessarily huge catch. We are operating on limited resources, and we have been able to improve the devices hundreds of times over. Hell, we release bug fixes before Apple does, and 4.0 is one big "Look, we can do some of the things the jailbreakers can do! Please come back!" plea.
