In the future, for you coders out there, do you think there would be a way the 2G ipod touch could run the multitasking? Just like the 3g itouch is jailbreakable by using 2g firmware, do you think vice versa would work? No flaming please, just wondering about the technical side of it.

I'm not trying to start anything, but is multi-tasking really that important to you? I mean, your iPod touch 2G will lag so much if you have multi-tasking in it.

Get some points straight before you post

the 8gb mc model is NOT a freaking 3rd gen device,it has the same hardware as the 2G except from the bootrom which cripples jailbreaks, the only reason you can use 2g firmware on the 8gb mc model ipod is because its a 2nd gen

But what about multitasking you say?
Get over it, apple wont add a feature that would be sluggish to use, lets face it whenever you use backgrounder on old gens to multitask the device becomes unresponsive and slow

    you wanna multitask?
Then use proswitcher or backgrounder... its all there

Haha, i'm not all that upset about it tbh, but I was a bit curious just how much slower the 2g has to be to not be able to handle it.

the 8gb mc models its NOT a 3G its a "late 2G mc model"

yeah you can multitask using a cydia app called pro-switcher you can also use backgrounder, i don't recommend you use it for memory hungry apps, use it for IMs, and the likes
