So, I guess I put more info in this spot, eh?

Well, I jailbroke my ipod last night with Quickfreedom, and now it's got installer and cydia on it.
I don't really know what either do or how to use them, but I'm sure it would be simple... IF I had WiFi.
    I however, do not.

    That's the problem.

I'm looking to install the NES app and some roms on it, and that's about it.
Is there a way to do this through USB?

there is a way thru usb but u need open ssh from cydia. go to a coffee shop with free wifi or something and download the NES and the roms you want.

you can have an ipod without wifi, but question is
1.why did you jailbreak it without wifi
2.why did you jailbreak it if you dont even know what cydia and installer is? do you even know what jailbreaking allows?

Well, people get PS3s and 360s without broadband internet access because online play isn't the only f*in' feature in a game, and the general mainstream places too much in that.
Seriously, big devs are basically making really short, tasteless, story-less campaign modes and just focusing on online play. Dumb.

    Anyway, off my soapbox.

I suppose saying I don't know what they do is a statement that makes
me seem more oblivious and more ignorant than I really am.
It's just... they don't do much for me without wifi.

And also, I'm fully aware... well... I can say I know SOME things jailbreaking allows.
It allows for arbitrary code to be executed, for unlicensed applications, it allows for great extents in customization and personalization, and I'm also pretty sure it opens up doors to piracy. Not that that's a good thing, but... hey, it happens.

Now... can you explain how to do this through usb?
Or is SSH required before it can be done with USB?

go to a place with free wifi and download open ssh in cydia and then go on your computer and go to youtube and type in "ssh without wifi" and it will show you how. i use itunnel when my wifi goes all crazy and wont work. but you should get wifi. having to ssh 3rd party apps dont always go so well and sometimes dont work.

You can use programs such as iFunbox or Diskaid.
