So I got an IPod 3g 64 GB touch.

Its cool and all, but the browser seems really slow and flash player and such are not allowed.

What can I really do with this thing?

I would like to watch netflix and be able to remote to windows PC's and maybe watch vid's I already have in .avi format.

I guess I could even watch videos via remote desktop to my PC if i got audio too.

After loading up some tunes and apps... I've already had to reset and start over once because the apps links were not functional. Anyhow, that's fixed and now I am ready to try more.

Maybe some of you can school me on the benefits of this wonderful machine and how to get the most out of it.

Maybe I need some other device that's not so proprietary

Judging by your name, you might want to jailbreak, which is just making the OS open to third party developers and apps Apple hasn't approved.

But you may have wanted to go with something else. I hear a Nexus One (Android 2.1, open source, unlocked) goes for something like $550. Apple's platform isn't open source. At all.

True, but i have yet to see a good Android PMP, only phones.

    OP: What can it do?
    • 1. Browse the web. (It's not slow, its probably just ur Wi-Fi)
    • Play great 3D games like N.O.V.A., Need for Speed Shift, and Call of Duty 5
    • Great music/video player
    • Has useful productivity apps that can be used to make Word/Excel/PowerPoint docs
    • Fun
    • Youtube
    • Overall, basically a puny laptop
