I am getting an used iPhone and have a newer AT&T SIM and have read a couple posts saying people have tried it and since its a non 3G device that AT&T doesn't notice because some people have said that they send you E-mails that you need to change over to the iPhone Services if you use a 3G or 3GS.

Just wondering what you guys think and if you have any tips, I am going to JB it and I was wondering if I need to do anything else?

Okay, I got the iPhone and it says to insert a valid AT&T SIM and hook it up to iTunes, will this alert AT&T to me messing around with the iPhone? If so is there a way to do it without alerting them, also whats the best software to JB it with? its a a1241, I believe its a 2g iPhone.

What firmware is it on? 3.1.3? If it is I don't don't you can unlock it because of the new baseband. I know that you can jailbreak though.

Just jailbreak the phone and you won't have to insert a sim.

Then restore it to a firmware that you can jailbreak.

I have a used 2G iPhone and I have not received any emails or messages from apple. The phone is hactivated and I do not have a cellular data plan. The only thing that happens is anything I try to use EDGE, it says I am not subscribed.
