Before the Dev-Team's post was edited, I tried using Redsn0w, and as a result, my iPod is locked at the "connect to iTunes" screen. Do I have to start fresh? Or would I be able to just wait for the Dev-Team's next release?

redsn0w is not meant to jailbreak iPod Touch 2G's on 3.0. You should have not even bothered and waited for the dev team to release the new 2.0 Jailbreak software for 3.0 firmware. Possibly even a new pwnagetool or quickpwn release. In my honest opinion, this was a stupid thing to try.

They said they did it before the post was edited so in fact it was not a stupid thing to try.
