Does anyone else know anything about this?

When I try to use Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak any device, it makes the IPSW, but after that, it just says to put the device into DFU and restore, but logically, that won't work. And it doesn't. So what does ih8sn0w expect us to do? It's really crappy software in my opinion... it needs to implement the exploits of each device so you can actually restore to the custom firmware.

yes because ibooty will put it into a boot that will force itunes to restore it without a problem

I was trying to jailbreak an iPhone 3G...

after the ipsw was made, it did the whole "put it into DFU mode" thing, which I've done a thousand times before... but the program just says "open iTunes and restore" like it's just supposed to magically work from DFU mode.

If he wants us to use ibooty, he should at least include it in the software... I can see where this would get confusing for someone trying to jailbreak their phone.

I also tried iReb, but that software is outdated.

I did end up using redsn0w... I also wrote ih8sn0w a long twitter message...

I love the software, it's great for creating custom packages, but it really fails at helping the user figure out how to install the goddamn thing on the device.

It works, but is harder to execute than stealing the Pentagon. That's right, the Pentagon.

True. It's UI sucks, but is good for people who want total customization of ipsws (you can automatically add Cydia sources and packages, install Rock store by default, etc).

sn0wbreeze is a windows port of the dev-teams PwnageTool for Macs. It's makes a custom pwned firmware that you then shift+restore install from iTunes.
