    Hi guys

Is there any text or sms applications you can suggest that i can download to my un-jailbroken Touch? something i can send texts to my friends mobile phones, and possibly an application i dont have to register an account with. something plain and simple.

    thanks.

txtdrop looks pretty cool (Posted above)
I haven't tested it yet, but I don't like how I have to enter an email address.
I suppose I can make another one up.

If you have an AIM account, you can use the AIM application, assuming you are using 2.0.
That, or e-mailing the phone (Ex: 1-222-345-6789@telefilp.com) Without the hyphens.

Just checked out Bluepulse.....bunch of BS....just use txtdrop, it's pretty straight-forward. I looked into Bluepulse cause it says you can send pics and stuff, but I couldn't figure it out....

    thanks guys.

    1) Bluepulse is a complete non-starter. i downloaded it and sent an sms no probs, but the recipient needs to verify a load of crap first before the message can be read. for all intents and purposes the txt message received looks like spam.

    2) txtdrop - first off, the web link only allows me to enter a 10 digit number. this is a bit strange considering most have 11 digits. Also, how do i get it onto an un-jail broken Touch?

    3) any thing else? (i might be on a hiding to nothing - after some research it doesn't look like Apple allows a simple sms service as of yet)

Why would apple offer sms to an iPod touch? Texting costs money, why would apple allow you to do this for free? Hence they brought out an iPhone, where you PAY to send a certain amount of texts per month. Either get an iPhone, or give up on the idea of texting on an IPOD TOUCH.

Well just use those "certain free web sites" via the touch.
