    Hey people,

On my MacBook I just realised that there is a small crack on the hinge, would apple replace this? It's still under warranty and I also wanted to know that if they did fix it/replace it would they give me a newer MacBook since mine has been slightly upgraded (2.26-2.4ghz & video card), I really want to know because since it's my main computer and it's a unibody won't it quickly get worse?

    Thanx, P33BR14N ^.^

they will replace it for you but you will not intentionally receive a upgraded version of the computer.

I think it depends if the upgrades were made an Apple certified place... I have no idea but that's just what seems logical to me.

I don't see why Apple would replace it/fix it. I mean, if you had treated it properly then it wouldn't have cracked. Warranties don't cover consumer damages. They only cover hardware defects. And a crack won't get worse unless you continually.. poke at it.. in a way. If you just leave it alone and use your Macbook normally, it'll be fine.

Apple doesn't replace cracked iPhone/iPod screens, I don't see why they should replace this.

Ok, the only reason i thought i might receive a slight upgrade is that the newer one is pretty much exactly the same except the processor is 2.4 rather than 2.26 and the video card was upgraded, but that's all i know of... and since if they did fix it wouldn't they have to replace it since it's a unibody and they probably don't make my model anymore.
