hey, im probably going to get a new amp soon as my band will (hopefully) start gigging soon, i was just wondering if i bought a speaker cabinet (no amp/head) could i plug my small combo (roland micro cube) into it from the output?
my setup would look like this:

    guitar--small combo--(through the output)--speaker cab

    would this work??

No, that wouldn't work well. The micro cube is too weak to drive the cabinet, and the output is probably a headphone output and not a speaker output.

Also, if you're serious about gigging, I can tell you from experience that buying a speaker cabinet is a bad idea. I thought a 4x12 half stack would be the coolest.. until I had it. It's really impractical and doesn't really offer an advantage over a nice combo amp.

Save yourself time, effort, and money and buy yourself a nice combo amp. Avoid Line 6 like the plague. Remember that wattage isn't always everything, and that a nice amp is more important than a nice guitar.
