    Hey all,
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I upgraded my 2nd gen ipod touch from 3.1.3 to 4.0 and I've noticed that everything is more sluggish. From browsing the net, unlocking the slider and typing as well. What's going on? Not jailbroken and I tried rebooting as well...

The ipt 2g doesnt handle the 4.0 as good as the 3g does... It may be slow on 2g but faster on 3g...

Its like putting Vista on an old computer. Apple isn't immune to mistakes.

Last time I checked, it was impossible to restore to 3.1.3, due to Apple having stopped signing it. But oddly enough, you can still restore to 3.1.2.
For that, go to felixbruns.de, select iPod firmware, select 3.1.2 for your iPod generation from the list and press download. After you have downloaded it, connect your iPod to the computer, open iTunes, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and press the Restore button. Then go to whatever folder you downloaded 3.1.2 to, and select it. And wait till it's done.

If you want to try something else, you could jailbreak your iOS 4.0 and remove some launch daemons. That may get you the performance you're looking for.

You removed launch daemons without a jailbreak? WTF?
