    Hi,

I'm having a similar problem....i have a 2nd gen iPod Touch, i previously had firmware 2 installed and everything worked fine. i then updated to firmware 3.0 using iPod2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore once installed the wireless did not work properly as in very intermittent and slow. nothing has changed on my router but i did try taking off all the security to see if this made a difference but it didnt. i tried it jailbroken and un jailbroken and the same problem. i re-booted my router and modem still the same, and also with all other devices on the network turned off. i have cleared the netowrk settings on the ipod general and have cleared all data from the same place, general>>erase date. but still this does not fix the issue.

    any other idea?

    Thanks
    Jay

Did you download the 3.0 update illegally? Or did you pay for it?

I guess there isn't much to do but restore.

You could go into Wifi settings, click on your network, and click on 'forget this network'.

Then try to connect again. I doubt that will do anything.

If it fails, then try a restore I guess.

    Sorry I couldn't help anymore.

In the same boat. Im right next to my PC which on fine on WiFi and I can't even connect or find the network. But if I walk into the hallway, connect, and then come back to my room it stays connected fine.

Never had these problems on 2.2.1, and streaming videos and browsing pages take forever to load :/

i'm getting slower speed too... and right now it says connected but can't access the internet. it can access the router's setup utility and says connected, but no internet access... this is all messed up

Is this happening on every network, or just your router? Because mine works fine.

Its not the router. How can my PC on WiFi which is litterally 2ft away have full signal to the router and my iPod can't even detect it? I have to move about 20ft into the hall to get signal to connect. And then I can come back into my room and it works fine :S

This is why I never update a major update. They're never stable. I couldn't even be bothered to update to 2.2.1, lol. I'm still on 2.2.

I updated my friends 3G to 3.0, and his is messing up as well. I told him to wait!
