I know they have a website and they give updates when they have something new.

I haven't been able to boot Debian, along with many other people. Until that is fixed, nothing really moves.

Like me he checks out irc and reads all the stuff about this. Also like he said the Debian install is really hard to get running, I have Debian working on my Touch but I got lucky to get past the main error and for some reason the fix I made has not worked for other people.

It is fairly usable from a dev standpoint. It does not have a gui and is still command line from a attached computer but it has the full suite of programs to run from the command line including the apt package manager (does not work until a kernel driver for network access is done) but still nice that is done. Also it has a fully working compiler so you don't have to cross compile apps on your computer. I am not someone who can write programs but I tested compiling a couple small things including a helloworld.c program.

The rootfs is saved on the internal flash drive and is write-able so your changes are saved.
