A while ago I added a homescreen bookmark for a site (fmylife.com), and when I open it I get a fullscreen, interfaceless windows with the page, which doesn't affect mobileSafari sessions at all, this is perfect.

I tried to bookmark a different page the same way, but the created shortcut always opens regular mobileSafari, and opens it in a new tab.

fmylife.com has a special iphone-optimized view, the site I'm trying to bookmark now does not - could that be the problem?

Or am I missing something here...I have no custom browsers or browser plugins installed by the way.

I heard its some thing that you need to add to the website's source code. some meta tag, that makes it do that. without = regular safari. with = special no interface safari/web.

There's a meta tag that enables "full-screen web-app mode". It must be implemented by the webmaster(s) of said site.

Aw crud. I don't suppose that there's a site that wraps around a webpage, adding this tag?

Thanks for the fast reply anyway

You could ask the owner of the site to implement it
