I've had a couple of searches on this but no-one else appears to be having this problem - looking at my iPot via SFTP I can't find system/libray/Coreservices/ etc etc. In fact, I can't even see system, only the library and media directories.

I feel like I must be missing something glaringly obvious but I just can see what it is!

Just a thought is there an up arrow anywhere...you may already be in one of the folders.

No, I'm definitely at the top of the hierarchy. I'm using CyberDuck btw.

Small update: I've installed Squid on the ipod and have used it to browse around - the first thing I see is the system folder which, sure enough has CoreServices and all the rest in it.

I still don't know how to edit those folders though! My SFTP client can't see them, so what can?

If you are still in the same directory that you logged in to then you are not at the top of the hierarchy. I don't have wifi here at work so I can't post the directory structure, but I believe once you first log in you have to go up a couple more directories in order to be able to see the proper Library directory.

The actual root directory has directories such as usr, var, etc...

I thought I was in the root directory when I first logged in but since I couldn't find the directory structure I was looking for I poked around and discovered that I was a couple of directories deep upon login.

    I hope that helps...

    Lol!

    Its easy to find...

Your in your root direct which is actually

    /private/var/root

Click Media_sym then click system then library then core services is in there. The default directory you go to is /private/var/root and media_sym is a shortcut to the private folder and library is just your library folder (/private/var/root/library)
