I noticed today the site was changed around a bit. For example, the Multi-Touch Fans banner is smaller, and our user details are gone, and instead shrunk to a button along with "User CP," "Tutorials," "Rules," etc. There may be more changes, but those are the ones that stuck out to me right away.

(Edit: Also noticed the forum navigation links are at the very top of the page. That gets a bit inconvenient.)

I personally preferred how it was before. That way we could see, at a glance, our private messages, the "logout" button, and a quick one-click link to our profile.

Plus, aesthetically, the larger banner size was nicer. Right now, it's the same height as the ad at the top. Which draws more attention? A wide ad, or our site banner?

Anyway, just some things I thought I'd bring up.

I liked the way it was you should open up a poll to see who likes it and who does not.

Most people don't like changes but everybody gets used to it.

If it wasn't broke, why fix it though?

I suppose the smaller logo and ad is fair enough, I just don't like the placement of the forum navigation now (above the board).

    I don't like:

the placement of the site navigation
    the new user info placement
    the new ad

Don't Like it. Unless they put the profile back where it was.

I don't think I'll ever get used to the site navigation.

I can say with certainty two things: (1) this site has operating costs, and (2) ads are a source of revenue. (I would say that ads are the primary if not sole source of revenue, but that would be speculation, however reasonable).

Given the unlikelihood that the MTF logo/banner is a source of revenue, we can conclude that any alteration of the MTF logo or banner's prominence or size is very likely to have no effect on revenue. As for the banner ad, the opposite is true. Lacking data, the intuitive deduction is that a larger, more prominent banner ad will likely generate more revenue than a smaller, less prominent ad would.

See above. Perhaps something was "broken" with regard to revenue and operating costs. Perhaps not.
