I changed my carrier image to Telcel (mexico's "almost default" carrier), and changed the wifi meter to signal bars, it looks pretty cool, and it's quite easy to do, just copy the signal bars from customize into the wifi folder, (can't remember if you have to rename them), and select them from customize, you also have to arrange the images so you only use three of them, cause wifi only has 3 "stages", while signal bars have 5, i'll post a screenshot soon

there you go, and those bars actually work, they show the wifi signal strength

i did the same thing, the filepath is /var/root/Media_sym/System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/ from there look for icons with "airport" (without quotes) located near them would be icons (.png) with "bars" in the name.
    for mine I made:
    airport 0=bars 0
    airport 1=bars 1
    airport 2=bars 3
    airport 3=bars 5

do this to both default and FSO pngs.
