    Hey.

So my friend gave me his old iPhone 3G because he got an iPhone 4 and I wanted to install Android on the 3G. I downloaded iPhoDroid and realized that I would need to jailbreak the device on 3.1.2 with PwnageTool, Redsn0w, or anything else that uses an iBoot exploit, (not Spirit).

Since the sleep/wake button is completely broken, there is no way I can put the device into DFU mode.

Is there any jailbreak I could use for 3.1.2 that does not require DFU mode but uses an iBoot exploit?

    Thanks.

Blackra1n and spirit don't need DFU mode.

But you can enter DFU mode with iRecovery? I dunno how though.

I know they don't need DFU mode, but like I said, I need a jailbreak tool that uses an iBoot exploit. The only available ones that use an iBoot exploit are ones that require DFU mode. At least, based on what I know.

I was asking if anyone knew a tool that required no DFU mode but uses an iBoot exploit.

And no, there will never be software that can boot a device into DFU mode. Ever. The last time you could do that was 1.1.4. Things have changed.

Blackra1n uses iBoot exploits and doesn't need DFU.
