SHSH Problem!

    Hi dere,If any1 can enlighten me what actually is shsh & ECID as i am noob i know nothing about them.I on Ipod 32 GB 3g 3.1.3 firmwire do i need to back em up & what for?

    Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated!

    there are many threads scattered around the forum =O

    anyway, ECID is a unique ID for every iDevices, shsh blobs are "blobs" and serves as a "key" to complete the missing parts in the firmware for it to boot up, you need to back them up for safe keeping, like "accidental" or forced updates of the firmware, you need them to be able to downgrade your device, since crapple doesn't sign old firmwares anymore

    ecids/shsh allow you to downgrade even if itunes doesnt let you.

    i just saved my shsh with AutoSHSH, i realized that after putting in to recovery mode and saving well, what do you do. after the connect to itunes sign is done, all you have to do is hold the power and home button at the same time until the apple's "silver apple" appears. then just wait like 30sec and your done.
