    You would've had to have saved the one for 4.2.1 already, so there's no way to get it at this point

    Well I upgraded to 4.3.2, I didn't think I'd be jailbreaking. I didn't save SHSH blobs from the 4.2.1 firmware;
    So should I jailbreak now, or wait for an other firmware to come out and its untethered jailbreak, and then do it?
    I saved the SHSH blobs from 4.3.2 now.

    Well, what? It's totally your choice whether you wanna jailbreak or not. 4.3..2 is untethered. :D

    I know that, but if anything goes wrong can I use current firmware's SHSH blobs or the previous one? Like if I jailbreak 4.3.2v and something goes wrong, do I need to use SHSH blobs from the previous firmware version I had (4.2.1v) or the current one (4.3.2v).

    each firmware per phone has a specific shsh blob. You have to have the specific blob for the IOS you are restoring to for it to work.

    Do I need to save the SHSH blobs if I'm intending to update my iphone 3GS firmware from 3.1.2 to 4.3.2 and jailbreak (no unlocking) subsequently?

    As long as Apple is signing the firmware you are upgrading/restoring technically you don't need the shsh blob, but you would be smart to get it as it preserves your ability to install it when 4.3.3 comes out.

    You must upgrade the day the new iOS comes out, then downgrade within 4 days.

    No, he's using a 2G... He can downgrade whenever he wants :p

    The 2nd generation devices use a sudo-SHSH (fake ones) that can be shared since they aren't hardware based.
