Should RIM Switch to Android or Windows Phone?

I think they should switch to the freshly new in the making FireFox OS.

Rim right now does hardware and software. A Blackberry refers to their phones and their operating system. I know you are saying more just because it would be different but I could easily see Blackberry switching to Android and becoming another company like HTC. It might be the only thing that can save the ship at this point.

I think they should switch to Windows Phone.

Windows Phone could use some more amazing hardware makers besides Nokia. (All current non-Nokia handsets are just recast Android phones.) Windows Phone also has Microsoft Office built-in, and is getting a huge enterprise push in WP8. Bam. Business people rejoice.

Also, RIM could just integrate BBM into the messaging tile. Would be extremely easy, (still likely be able to communicate with older Blackberrys running BBOS too,) and could be Blackberry device exclusive, much like how Nokia is doing stuff with WP7. BBM, a new amazing OS, high-end hardware and a real BB keyboard would be enough to take a lot of people back from Android and iOS.

Android would just kill them quicker, sadly.

They should be bought by Microsoft, Google, or Apple.

Personally I think they just lost all hope when the guy mentioned "Pulling a reverse Apple."
Because somehow they would screw up somewhere.
