I've asked myself this question over and over, but I've come to a decision and I'm just sticking with my 1G. I wanted to get a 2G, but I decided not to. I'll just wait until next year and see what they come out with.

If you want a faster iPod then getting one of the new 32 or 64GB touches is what you might want.

I am doing the same sticking with my 1G because next year there has to be the most amazing update for the iPod touch because if not it will be dead.

Wait until next year and buy whatever Apple throws at you.

the first gen only came in 8 and 16gb models....

Edit: My bad, I just googled and found out differently. When I bought mine though, I'm 90% sure there were only 8 and 16.... Guess maybe not. I bought mine when it first came out.

i had a 1g touch and i upgraded. for a handful of reasons. mostly the capacity, internal speaker, bluetooth, and better performance for gaming.

i can see 2g owners being hesitant on upgrading. but for 1g owners it's definitely worth it.

If I were you I would stick to 1G... or if you need something buy a used 2G for a much cheaper price!.

You could be better off waiting for the new rumors to go away. Yes, they're just rumors. But on the flip side, there could still be a possibility of a new model.
