as the title says. All of the new features are awesome, and it had almost everything i wanted, but im not sure if i should upgrade. I did learn though that 8GB isnt enough for me

but i read a review and it said that HD video shot from an iPod touch wont look as good as HD video shot from an iPhone 4. is this true?

The rear camera on the iPod is roughly 1MP, IMO I think the quality wont be as good as the iPhone's. I say if you have the money, go for it

the video recording is HD, which will be more than decent.

and the camera is just one new feature. the retina display, faster processor, slimmer size and better gyro, built in mic, are other reasons to upgrade.

I am in your position but I am seriously leaning towards telling off the old crappy iTouch and getting the new awesome one. Hopefully will get 32GB if i can afford it.

the video recording will be just as efficient as the iPhone 4's according to apple. the camera will not be but no one knows yet since no one has the device. but if your gonna take videos youll love it.

The 8GB "3rd" gen won't be able to run iOS 5 when it comes out next year (judging from what Apple has done in the past). If you're running out of space or want to be able to play the latest games, then future-proofing isn't a bad idea.
