Should i trash it

    hey
    well i got my ipot first gen pre-order from first day and a bit ago it run out off battery and shut off so i tryed to recharge the battery but it woldent run anymore.

    when i go for a restor i get the known error 1604 so i tryed some guides to fix it but nothing worked my question is now can it be a definitely fatal error or may i keep on trying got rid of the error?
    if yes does anybody kows a working guide i tryed so many times including other pc other os other itunes other firmware ....

    Sometimes, itunes won't recognize the ipod until it is some amount charged. Don't trash it yet. I had the 1604 error once, and I can't recreate it now. I don't remember what it was, but it went away.

    Well def. don't trash it, you can sell the parts. Plug it in and leave in overnight encase it just insent reporting charging, then try again.

    no, its definately fixable.

    upgrade itunes.

    ok i used itunes 7.5 and firmware 1.1.4 and it worked i guess the main error was i dident loaded up the btterys enoth thx for your suport
