I used Quick-freedom but everyone says "red snow is better", is there a point in re jailbreaking with red snow?

No, Quick Freedom and Red Snow do the same thing, so jailbreaking with one or the other wont change anything. People like Red Snow because it was made from the dev team, so its more reliable.

Other than easiness and LogoMe compatability, there's not much difference.

Everything will be gone from your iPod, but you can always re-sync them with iTunes. Your notes, contacts and game saves will be saved if you backed it up as well.

regular ssh over wifi should work but no diskaid will not work as of now. just go read the dev teams blog http://twitter.com/MuscleNerd and here is the post i was talking about "@e3na Yes it's fine to go to 8.2 iTunes, we'll have compatible versions out after Apple's official 3.0 release. (Still no ssh-over-usb tho)"
