Well, I'm planning to buy my Touch come Friday. I'm planning to get the 16gb so do you think I should buy it this early or wait in the hopes of a new generation of the touch?

Probably wait a month and see if the Touches come with 2.0 and extra features pre-installed.

Yep, if you feel like waiting, definitely wait... There will most probably be either a price drop or upgrade.

Also, you will likely get the SDK(?) support upgrade for free, like the January software upgrade.

Do you think Apple will include a Hardware upgrade? Or plainly focus on the software side?

I just got a brand new 16GB touch for $310 shipped. It only comes with the USB cable. The unit still has the plastic wrap on it. The user is very reputable based on reviews so that shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, if you try hard enough on eBay, you'll come across good deals. So if you don't want to wait (I did not), then go for it. Considering that the 8GB retails for $299, if you throw in tax or shipping, it'll be more.. I think I got a pretty good deal.
