To tell the truth, I am worried about jailbreaking. I know the advantages (like costumation and cydia apps) but I don't want anything happen to my precious iPod. I am also a bit afraid of getting viruses or brick my iPod. Is it possible? Should I jailbreak?

Oh and I have a 2 years warranty and if something happens to my iPod, i would like to be able to repair it.

You can never brick an iPod. Ever. I've taken mine to the limits, I've put it in DFU loops, I've always been able to get out.

    Get a virus? DFU restore.

    Yes. Jailbreak, nao.

And about the warranty, a DFU restore will put you right back under warranty.

    Generally jailbreaking violates a warranty.
But luckily If you restore, I will remove the jailbreak and apple will never know.

Truthfully It is extremely difficult to brick an idevice.
You can almost always restore using dfu mode.
Its actually pretty difficult to do permanent damage.

Furthermore, there are no real known viruses for ipod touch or iphone. The complexity of the OS. Make it difficult for hackers to design viruses.

    Jailbreaking offers many befits.

I would say the benefits out-way the risks.

So far i think there is only 1 or 2 viruses on the iOS, and they both can only occur if you have SSH enabled, which sensible people turn straight off after use.

I have an MC model, i am a complete jailbreaking novice, yet all errors seem to be very easy to fix. I have got mine stuck on the Apple logo before, i put it in DFU and out again, and left it for 6 hours and it came on. I have also accidently deleted Cydia via SSH (lol).

No errors, no sending to Apple.

(quick question, if you restore normally (not in DFU) and you have jailbroken, can Apple find you out?)

Jailbreak is the most valuable thing you can feed your iPod/iPhone/iPad. If you haven't jailbroken yet, do so now.

If you've never jailbroken, use Limera1n , it's pretty easy.

If you are used to the button pushing with the pressure of instructions, use Greenpois0n.

You can still go to an apple store with it jailbroken and they won't take your warranty.

It's legal and if they tried I wouldn't allow it.

    @OP

When I first heard about jailbreaking I was kinda like "Should I do this...?"

Let me tell ya it was well worth it.No risk at all.Perfectly safe and you have thousands of people to say as well.

Limera1n's full version is out and Greenpois0n's version is out. Either pois0n your iPod or Make it ra1n on your iPod. Your choice.
