Don't know if this is the correct place to post this, if not sorry. I've been thinking about jailbreaking it for a while. Just a few questions before I do it.

    1. Is it possible to jailbreak a 2G iPod Touch running 2.2.1 firmware?
    2. When the firmware is updated what happens?
    3. Will it still sync with iTunes fine?
    4. Will all my existing apps remain?
    5. Is it reversible?
    6. Can i still download apps from the Apps Store?
    7. What is the best way to do it for my iPod?
    8. Whats is DFU(?) mode?

I'm sure most of those questions are answered in the multiple FAQ threads.

    And yes you should jailbreak...

Unless some emulators that run poorly or silly themes make you incredibly excited don't bother with it. It will run better as it is.

No, ive jailbroken and ive now updated. AppStore is more reliable and has better apps.
Jailbreaking a 2.2.1 firmware is risky since the apple logo of death comes up everytime. Apple needs a new update for that.
Firmware gets updated and you get Cydia and Installer if you use quickpwn (recomended)
It will sync fine with iTunes but wont detect your iPod being a 2.2.1 firmware.
All your existing apps will be gone. Cant get them back, unless you dual boot but thats risky and very difficult.
It is totally reversable, just restore with iTunes.
Cant use appstore no more (see above lol)
use quickpwn for quickpwning lol or Winpwn. ZiPhone wont work and others wont as its 2.2.1.
dunno what DFU is lol. My opinion dont jailbreak, its full of daemons and stuff, memory gets used up in bits. Need help just e-mail

Just don't jailbreak. It's pretty pointless.

Jailbreak, no reason not to, you have everything and then some with jailbreaking, you literally don't really lose anything EXCEPT the ability to reboot without a computer, unless you do semi jailbreak, which is kind of buggy I heard. It's awesome and I'm having a blast with my jailbroken ipod =)
