So I got my iPod touch 4 a little bit ago from the Apple store. I just looked at the back and noticed that there were some scratches that I didn't cause. They aren't that big of a deal but it is a little disappointing because I wanted to keep it in mint condition. I was wondering if you think it is a big enough of a problem for me to exchange it for a new one.

It's too much money for it to be all scratched up already... get a better one

I know it will get scratches, but it had them coming from the Apple store. But if they are all like this I won't bother getting a new one.

Unless you live near an Apple store, it doesn't seem worth it to replace something that is inevitable, unless you guard the back with your life. Like using a case immediately when you open it.

Agreed and that doesn't seem the case here otherwise the scratches wouldn't have gotten there!

Plus the front can get scratched up just as easy as the back.

You probably caused them yourself. If you don't have a case, you can't complain.

The back Gould have had protective film over it when you took it out of the box. Perhaps hen you removed it and placed it down you caused the scratches your self.

I have to disagree on that. My 1st gen's back is beat to hell with scratches all over it. But the front is pristine. Could be NIB.
