Should I charge the battery, or drain it?

    Hey,
I'm planning on getting an ipod touch this week. I've had an ipod nano before, and the battery life was terrible. I didn't fully charge it or fully drain it when I first got it, so now that I'm getting another ipod I don't want to make any mistakes.
What do you suggest I do? (fully charge it or drain it)
What did you do you when you first got your ipod? (Does your ipod have good battery life now?)
    Thanks

I usually charge mine every night (unless I haven't used it that day), but every once in a while it's good to let the battery drain (not die, just get low) before another charge.

Thanks for the reply, but I am just refering to the very first time you hook your ipod up to the computer. Does it even make a difference what you do with the battery in the beginning?

In that case, the very first time I took it out of the box, I immediately connected it and let it charge, and my battery life is pretty decent.

always drain your battery at times fully to weather it.

Apple recommends that you top off your battery as often as possible!

draining does not help the touch or iPhone.

allowing to drain 100% would confuse these devices!

(I did the research, it's not just my opinion)
