Should i buy a new imac now....or wait till next years models? here is what i'm thinking.

-Snow leopard is optimised for "multi-core processors" which makes it pretty obvious there going to at least give the option of a quad-core intel
-by next year, they should surley have blu-ray capably drives, seeing as the war will be totaly over by that point, and the drives will be less expensive
-hopefully they'll put a nice LED display in the imacs, as apposed to the current ones
-faster,better DDR3 RAM will more than likley become the standard by then
-and the usual increase in RAM/HDD space

all that put together makes quite a better imac than the current one...should i go ahead and get the one availible know, or what an aggonizingly long extra year for a new iMac to become availible.

so your thoughts and advice please

    • Snow Leopard, from what I see, is more designed for Media professionals. So if you're not in the media industry, I doubt you would need Snow Leopard whatsoever.
    • Blu-Ray is going to die lol Just simply, Blu-Ray is going to die. So don't worry about that.
    • This I'm hoping for also, or they move on to OLED when it gets better ironed out.
    • Of course this is going to happen since technology is advancing so fast.
    • Definitely/Obviously is going to happen.

I mean, if you have the patience, wait for the refresh. But if you're really itching for a Mac, go for it.

    Blu-Ray will die because:

    • To really have a GOOD WORTH WHILE 1080i/p experience, you need at LEAST a 42+ Inch TV.
    • Blu-Ray Loads WAYYYYYYYYYY Too slow.
    • Blu-Ray Discs are WAAAAYYYYY Too expensive.
    • Blu-Ray Drives re WAYYYYYYYYY Too pricey.
    • Blu-Ray Players are WAAYYYYYYY Too Unaffordable.
    • Most Content is now going online and/or streamed.
    • Blu-Ray Discs need a special factory just to create a Disc unlike HD-DVD which was made in the same factories that Regular DVD's are made.

This is the same thing that happened to BetaMax. And who owned BetaMax? Hint: Same person who owns Blu-Ray.

well, all brand spanken new technology is somewhat like that, but it all boils done to what who supports what...and currently, Blu-ray has that edge.

oh, and i totaly agree that it would be increadibly awsome if the next imacs had oled screens!
