i replace the flimsy cords on my IEM's with ibud cords

ibud cords are extremely strong for some reason

    oh right, fibers.

all of my earphones that broke had the "dead left or right channel" and the "broken plug to wire connection"

my ipod headphones have pretty much been through hell lol
iv dropped them, stepped on them, completely submerged them in water, i always wrap them around my ipod and pull my ipod from my pocket using the wire (always)
iv had them for over 2 years and they STILL work (<--Thats a miracle!) lol i love them!

I don't know if it really does help, but I try not to leave the two eaarphones touching. I've heard it's bad for it.

Apple earphones aren't as easy to break as most of the ones I've used though. I had some from my nano 3g 2 years ago and they work fine. My friend's went through the wash and only one earphone stopped working, lol. That's another thing I wouldn't reccommend doing though.

By the way if you want free earphones (at least in Australia. Some airlines in other countries might do this too), next time you go on a plane trip, go over to the Virgin Blue lounge and they have a whole tub full of free earphones for the radio on the plane. They aren't that bad for free ones. You can also get them in-flight.

Unplug it from the connector, not the cable.

I used to take care of IEM's, but now I just wrap it around my iPod.
I thought there would be no point because you wrap it and put it in the case anyway.

according to how my skullcandies broke (the adjusment strap broke, snapped in two) Don't touch your skullcandies at all don't even wear them just put them up on a shelf and forget about them

My head isn't even that big I didn't mess with the straps that much

One day when I was putting them on I heard a crack and BAM the right earpiece is broken off...hanging by a wire

    just great

but I will never buy skullcandies again
