    Hello,

first of all I have been through many stickies and FAQ's already trying to answer my question.

I use my iPod touch (32gb 3rd gen)way more often than my laptop, and as such when I'm out and about download the majority of applications and music directly to my iPod via Wifi.

Now time has come to update it, and I'm afraid of losing this stuff. From what I get iTunes is telling me, "all stuff on your iTunes will be safe, all stuff on your iPod that is not also on iTunes will be lost".

Last time I updated, about 6 months ago, there was an error and I lost everything, except that of course that was in my iTunes.

How do I get applications and music, downloaded directly to my iPod, into my iTunes? It won't let me click and drag, I know that much and I've tried a lot.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    -Rob

    Create a Backup.
You'll get all your stuff back.

Thanks for the response. I am not very computer literate, how do you create a backup? Is it a simple iTunes operation?

Click file (top left corner) > transfer purchases from device to itunes.

Remember to plug your ipod in.

process complete. Apparently I had nothing to worry about. Though I still wish I could transfer purchased songs to my iTunes somehow.
