I have read about jailbreaking for a while and I would like to do it. Three things are on my mind, and they render my thoughts scrambled and useless so could someone help me.

    1. Jailbreaking has 0.1% fail chance which coincidentally happened to my friend. I am scared it will kill my iPod which I only had for 3 weeks.

    2. I have already bought $40 of apps so it seems like i should've done it earlier but haven't making me feel like I shouldn't to keep my pride and so forth.

    3. I have read that jailbreaking will screw up your battery, I mean the daemons, they will eat up your battery a lot!!!

You can't Jailbreak your iPod. It has 3.1.3 Software which cannot be Jailbroken.

And please don't talk about Piracy.

No but you can downgrade an 8 gig. And a jaolbreak doesnt give you free app store apps. Thats piracy.

and if your iPod does mess up that bad, to the point were you are "bricked" (practically impossible), you of course are still under warrenty under apple for a repair

but.. as of this moment, there is not a jailbreak out for firmware 3.1.3 ...

You might have thought I was in it to get free apps? No I wasn't I was just worried that my $40 of apps would vanish. I just wanted to get winterboard to get themes. I like themes.

Maybe you should just enjoy using the thing as it is. The iPod Touch is a really nice device - there's lots of stuff you can get for it and it works like a charm just as it is, out-of-the-box! Rather than "tinkering" with it all the time you can actually just enjoy using it!

But, then again, I'm probably just viewed as an "old fogey" around here anyway. ;-)
