Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

How hard would it be for a developer to develop a notification system similer to the "shade" system for android? That is, make an extension of MobileSubstrate that is like qTweeter, only it shows notifications like SMS, Mail, Calender, basically all notifications.

Some points to look at / apps that could be frankenstiened together:
StatusNotifier: to tell what notifications are available to view
    qTweeter: the "pull down" function
GriP (Fake Push Notifications): I have only read about this, but to my knowledge this application intercepts push notifications and posts them to GriP (Growl for iPhone).
    GriP: Mail notification application

I'd love to help with this, but I havent done any coding in Obj-C. I understand the theory of Object Oriented Programming, and I did extremely well with Visual Basic.

I, as well as many others, would be ecstatic to be rid of the iPhone's HORRIBLE notification service.

    Pull down menu from statusbar.
Menu can be pulled all the way to the bottom of the screen
Menu Contains scrollable list of notifications, sorted by time.
    Clear notifications button (perhaps)
Notifications would show up as such:
    [Application]: [Notification Title, bold]
    [Notification Text, not bold]
I would be greatly thankful if someone was to take this extension up as their own
