    hello!

    i have:
    - new ipod touch 16GB (firmware 1.1.1)
    - notebook dell xps m1710, vista business german, wlan enabled
    - wireless data connecton (works with cell phone network)

i can access the internet w/ my notebook using the wireless data connection.
is there any way to set up a wi-fi connection to my itouch in order to use the wireless data connection on my itouch?
sorry, i'm not very experienced in setting up complex networks....this one seems complex to me. i've already tried to create a ad-hoc connection, but my itouch fails to connect (unable to join network).

    thank u!

i tried to set up a ad-hoc connection (ip: 192.168.0.1, 255.255.255.0)...i activated internet sharing on the wireless data connection. my ipod seems to connect to my wifi (wifi icon, full signal). but when i try to start safari it shows immediatly "safari cant open the page....".
when i open the properties of the wireless data connection it says "internet" but in the property of the wifi ceonnection it says only "local". is that normal? do i need any special ip, gateway, dns settings?
