Can you give push notifications to any application? For example, I have a textPlus app and I use it everytime. I have to go in the app and check if I got a reply. Its a waste of my time. Can I do something to give it notifications? Ideas: Alter .plist, alter settings?

No, the dev has to release an update.

In order for push notifications, the developer of the app has to release an update for the app through the app store.

You cannot set Push notifications for any application.

The developer of the application ahs to release an update that uses Push.

Maybe the developer doesn't want to do this because he'd have to set a special server up for forwarding all of the messages to Apple, and then forwarding them to your iPod (if that's how it works). Texting applications create a lot of traffic, as you can see with TextFree, which takes quite a while in some situations to send.

    Just use AIM.

IM+ and Beejive are both equally awesome apps.
