I have a pwned iPod touch with 2.0.1 firmware.

I just wanted to know if it is okay to set everything (all folders and files) on my iPod with 0777 permission. Is there any harm in doing this? Because it's frustrating to remember different permission settings for different folders (like ROMs and Applications).

I am using WinSCP to change the permissions, and I want to know if it will cause any problems with compatibility.

Setting everything to 0777 will make it so you can't boot anymore. Bad idea.

Also, do you know how long that would take? There are thousands of files, and some (like rdisk0 and rdisk0s1) and forcibly set to show up as ~0 bytes, but are actually made into the whole taken up parition of the iPod.

    I'd reccomend only setting /Applications to 777, and /var/mobile.
