    There is no problem setting up a simple html page with an embedded .mp4 file. E.G. with this:

    Code:
    <embed src="picture.jpg" href="link.mp4" type="video/mp4" target="myself" scale="1">
    </embed>
    The problem I'm having is that my iPod sends about 16 requests to the server when loading the page with the embedded video, and 16 more when playback of the actual video is starting.

    The playback is smooth, but I have no idea why it sends so many requests. Have anyone else experienced this?

    Any help is appreciated

    surely there is more to your html page than the small snippet above?

    also, how do you know the number is 16? what is you definition of a request? http header?

    need more info

    Surely, it isn't. But it matters not.
    When loading said page, these are the calls it makes:

    Shoudn't one suffice?

    Edit: And of course, another 15-20 calls like these when commencing streaming of the video.
