ok so i got my ipod stolen from school a few weeks ago...and my dad just read in the paper someone at my school got arrested for stealing ipods. I'm guessing i need proof its my ipod when they call me down to get it back, and the only proof i really have would be the serial number which i didn't write down because i only had it for like 24 hours. is there a place in itunes i can find it? thanks...

it was a replacement ipod. it was just a white box, with just the ipod in it.

    Open up iTunes.

    1. Hold down the Control key and choose Help > About iTunes (Windows) or iTunes > About iTunes (Mac).

    2. Let go of the control key.

    3. As the iTunes and QuickTime version information scrolls, you will see the last connected iPod touch's serial number.

Just please tell me you connected it to the computer. If you did, then you will get your iPod back.

On my iTunes it shows both my ipod Touch serial number, my iPhone serial number and iPhone imei even though neither of them are connected to the computer at this time. So it would be worth a shot trying this and noting any serial numbers listed and then comparing against devices you do have.
