Okay, I'm stuck between buying a pair of Shure SE115's for around $80, and the Sennheiser CX500's that I've seen on Ebay brand new for roughly 20 USD. What should I do? I really want the Shures, but I'm actually saving for an iPhone, and the Shures will set me back a couple of weeks worth of saving. :/

So which one out of the two has the better sound. Also, which has more bang for the buck?

    Thanks in advance.

The CX500's are probably fake. They should cost about $40-$60..
At least, that's what I see them for on Amazon.
There are a ton of fake CX500's on Ebay.

The CX500's were discontinued, so they're going cheaply now. I can't say whether that specific one is fake though.

Oh I see. And to anyone that have tried the Shure SE110's and 115's, is the bass that much better on the 115's?

Oh also, the Shure SE115's going on ebay, are they likely to be fake?

They're not been out for that long and cannot imagine there can already be fakes. Due to the fact the SE115 has a dynamic driver, whilst the SE110 use a balanced armature driver, there will probably more bass impact. SE110's really do lack bass and makes music dull

Also, are there some alternatives to the Shure SE115's?

I've seen them go for bout $80 on ebay, but once again, I'm afraid of fakes.

And if there are possibilities of fakes, are there any signs I can look for?

    Thanks.

$100 is retail price... I think. Umm have a look at the Sennheiser CX95's.

Then I guess the possibility of fakes is pretty low, since retail is $100, and the J&R near my school was selling them for $90. It's a tiny bit dubious if the seller has very little feedback, 10+ pairs, and a $60 discount. :/

Edit: My music tastes include classic rock (AC/DC) and a little bit of classical music. Would the Shures suit my needs?

The Shures are forward. They have forward mids, and rolled off treble. I'm not sure that's good for Classical?
