So my home button isn't working. No water damage, and I've restored and crap and it still doesn't work.

So I'll get it replaced under warranty. Since I don't have an Apple store near me, I'll need to send it in to them. I am wondering if it costs anything to ship it in if it's covered under warranty. i couldn't find anything about it on their site.

k, is your warranty past 6 months? if it is, you have to give a $40 ish fee, doesnt matter if u go to apple store or mail it, u HAVE to pay the fee
if ur warranty isnt 6 months or u have applecare extended, then its free of cost

    hope it helped

    good luck

I'm fairly certain that's not correct, as my old 1g was replaced by Apple (in store) For free when it had 1 month of warranty left and no warranty.
