Well if you're friend is buying the iPhone without service, just the phone, it will be a lot more than $100-$300.

    That's that.

    Then the shipping part.

There are many different ways to send it, it's like sending any object really.
I'm not sure what USPS meant when they meant 20% of the iPhone but, you'll have to pay a price for international shipping.

personally i would never ship international to a third world country by regular mail. Your packages are safe in America but when they get there they open them and steal whats inside. You should consider UPS or Fedex that are private mail and have less chance of your package being stolen. You shouldn't have to pay tax on the iphone, just shipping. When I sent my cousin a ps3 by usps they stole it when it got to Argentina. It had insurance though, so I recovered the money and sent another one through Fedex and it got there without problems.

yes no matter what company you go with you have to pay shipping depending on the weight. But you shouldnt pay a 20% tax. You could go with usps with insurance but its more of a hassle if the iphone does get stolen

    Jailbrake + Unlock w/ redsn0w & ultrasn0w.

Then use a Malaysia based SIM Card based service to avoid US AT&T taxes.
