Hey dudes, I called apple today to arrange sending my ipt2g back, As just yesterday I noticed that the screen is slighly loose at the bottom left corner.. makes a sort of clicking noise when pressed. It also has a dull white pixel in the very bottom left corner too.. No biggy really but its annoying on a dark screen.

As i'm 100 miles from a apple store they are sending a courier out to pick it up friday, The say they only want the iPod alone no box earphones etc,

Question is will they repair the same iPod, send a refurb, or brand a new one ?

    Cheers.

It depends... When I helped my brother send in his defective iPod touch to an Apple Service Provider (slider is not functioning, device cannot be accessed as a result), they actually exchanged this faulty unit with a new one... It was around three days after I sent the unit to them actually...

I was actually thinking they will repair the unit, didn't know Apple will exchange it outright!

Yeah I'm hoping for a new one. But no biggy if it's a refurb I guess

Apple tends to just send new devices back. Idk why, guess they have excess product laying about.

Unlike Sony, where if you smash a PS3 they'll duck tape/glue it all back together, make it work, and send it back.

Expect a refurb, they usually don't send back new ones.

Haha so true. I had severe troubles with the PS2 back in the day.
